The Whittlesea U3A Knitters Group meet every first and third Wednesday of the month in Mill Park Lakes.
The group has made a submission to the Leader Local Grants for funds to support their knitting for charity. Their submission has been selected in the short list for members of the local community to vote for their idea.

“We are a group about 20 lovely mature aged ladies that get together regularly to knit for Charities within Whittlesea Area including new arrivals into the area, Northern Hospital & underprivileged families.
We make knitted gloves, beanies, baby cardigans & jumpers, toys & various other goods.
We rely on donated wool & stuffing (for the toys) & find that we really struggle to maintain a supply for the ladies. This grant will enable us to purchase enough to maintain our supply for Charity.”
To vote for the Knitters Group idea you need to register at – http://www.leaderlocalgrants.com.au/user/register
