Federica and the U3A team at Busy Hands Circle wish to thank everyone who helped with the raffle.
To all the volunteers who sold tickets and especially to those who donated their valuable time, expertise and materials in the making of the prizes, thanks to you all.
For the three donated hand-made prizes, raffle tickets were sold during the term as well as the U3A Open Day and September Morning Tea, the total amount being $348.00 and we would like to thank all who purchased tickets and congratulate the winners:-
First Prize – Sheryl Carroll
Second Prize – Elaine Brook
Third Prize – Anne Carbis
At the U3A Open Day hand made goods were donated and offered for sale and sold for a total of $36.00. Some private items were also sold. The monies raised from the Raffle and donated goods are being used for projects, sewing machine attachments and kits for teaching.
Our friendly U3A Busy Hands group meets at Peter Lalor College and has achieved a range of things. Many use the time to finish craft, sewing, knitting, crochet and UFOs. As well as learning different skills for projects using the sewing machines and embroidery, each helping one another. The machines are there to be used.
We also have charity Cancer head-wraps. If you know of anyone who needs one of these hats or scarves, we freely give them out; just ask at the office.
Our group again thank you for your help in raising monies which we gainfully use in our class.
