Dear members, we are thinking of offering two new classes and asking for expressions of interest.
1.
Kumi Himo braiding: A Japanese technique for the creation of decorative cords. You will learn the basic 16 cord braids (round, square and flat).
Participants will need to purchase 3 small discs from eBay sites which will be advised by Tutor (about 3 for $5.00) and they will need to prepay $30(non- refundable), for a small handbook, threads and fittings.
It is a course and not an ongoing group and attendance at week 1 will be essential.
2.
Oriental bindings are those used mainly in China and Japan. They feature decorative sewing with flexible (rather than hard) covers and there is no gluing.

The students will need to purchase some tools and they will be advised by the tutor.

Participants will need to prepay $35

(non- refundable) for photocopied instructions for each binding, all the paper used and the thread.
