It is with great sadness we announce the passing of one of our Whittlesea U3A members, Ian Newbegin.

Ian contributed a great deal of his time to teaching in his younger days and then concentrated on writing. He wrote many books on the subjects of depression in men and prostate cancer which he suffered from.

He was one of the co-authors of the book “Now, Then & In Between” the ten year anniversary compilation of the founding of Whittlesea U3A Inc.

He was a gentle soul with a lot of compassion for others and was always ready to give a smile. He loved to teach Tai Chi and thought it would benefit everyone regardless of health conditions. He made a lot of friends through the classes on a Friday and he will be sorely missed.
