I am writing to let you know that the Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning has partnered with Thomastown Library to hold a free information session about Victorian Energy Compare in June. Victorian Energy Compare is the Victorian Government’s free to use, independent energy price comparison website, designed to help people find the best electricity, gas and solar offer available.
Our sessions are structured to teach participants how to read and understand their electricity bill, how to use the Victorian Energy Compare website, how to claim the $50 Power Saving Bonus, how to ask their retailer for a better offer, and how to reduce household energy consumption to save money and live more sustainably. Many of our participants are aged 55+ and we have received feedback that the sessions are useful for helping people to reduce their cost of living, and it’s also an opportunity for people to chat to other residents in their community.
